IRC Web Chat — Rules & Code of Conduct

Thank you for joining. These rules keep conversation friendly, safe, and useful for everyone. Please read them before participating.

General conduct

Short, clear expectations for everyone.

  • 1

    Be civil and respectful

Harassment, hateful language, racial slurs, threats, or encouraging self-harm are strictly prohibited. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

  • 2

    Keep channels on topic

Use the appropriate channel for your topic.

  • 3

    No spam or solicitation

Do not post unsolicited links, ads, repeated messages, or mass mentions. Requests for money, votes, or follows are not allowed unless explicitly permitted.

Privacy & Safety

Protect yourself and others.

  • 4

    Don't share personal information

Posting personal data (addresses, phone numbers, private messages) of yourself or others is forbidden unless you have explicit consent.

  • 5

    Report vulnerabilities responsibly

If you find a security issue, report it privately to the administrators instead of posting it publicly.

Moderation & Enforcement

How moderation works and consequences.

  • 6

    Moderators' authority

Moderators can warn, delete messages, mute, kick, or ban users depending on severity. Moderation actions may be logged for audit.

  • 7

    Escalation & appeals

If you believe action was unjust, contact the moderation team via the listed contact method to appeal.

  • 8

    Zero tolerance for illegal activity

Sharing instructions for illegal acts, facilitating crime, or distributing copyrighted material without permission will result in immediate ban and possible reporting to authorities.

Channel & Nickname Guidelines

Small rules for smooth chat experience.

  • 9

    Choose an appropriate nickname

Nicknames should not impersonate staff or other users, contain hateful content, or be confusingly similar to official names.

  • 10

Use channel topics and commands responsibly

Flooding channels with commands or abusing bots is not allowed. Respect channel-specific topic notes and rules.

Reporting & Help

How to get help or report issues.

  • 11

    How to report

Use /msg ModeratorName report <details> or the web report form to provide evidence (timestamps, logs, screenshots). Be concise and factual.

  • 12

    Need help?

Ask in the #support channel or reach out to staff. Don't publicly call out users report instead.
